Keyboard shortcuts
Every key SprintBee listens for — number keys to vote, five single keys for moderators, and the dialog and focus keys shared across the app.
Shortcuts work on every plan. They are ignored while the cursor is in a text box, so typing an item title never casts a vote.
Vote with the number keys#
Number keys cast a vote for anyone eligible to vote on the item currently on the stage — not just the moderator.
| Deck | Press | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Numeric (Fibonacci, Modified Fibonacci, Powers of Two, Hours) | The number printed on the card | Votes that card — 3, 13, 100 |
| Numeric, multi-digit | The digits in sequence | Waits about two-thirds of a second for a longer match, so 1 then 3 votes 13 rather than 1 |
| Non-numeric (T-Shirt Size, mostly-text custom decks) | 1–9 |
Votes the card in that position, left to right |
On a numeric deck, cards whose labels are not whole numbers — 0.5, ½, ? —
have no keystroke. Pick them with the mouse or from the focused hand.
Number keys do nothing while an async voting ballot is open, so a stray keystroke cannot vote on the live round you are not looking at.
Moderator round controls#
While you hold moderator controls and an item is on the stage, five keys drive the round. Each mirrors a button in the action bar and is inert whenever that button would be.
| Key | Action | Active when |
|---|---|---|
S |
Start voting | Voting is paused |
R |
Reveal votes | Votes are in and not yet revealed |
A |
Accept the estimate | Votes are revealed |
N |
Next item — skips the current one | The round is open |
C |
Clear votes and re-open voting | The round is open |
N and C throw away work, so both ask for confirmation once anyone has
voted. Combinations with Cmd, Ctrl or Alt are ignored, leaving browser
shortcuts alone.
Move around without a mouse#
| Keys | Where | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Tab / Shift+Tab |
Anywhere | Move between controls |
← / → |
Your hand | Move focus across the cards |
Enter or Space |
Your hand | Vote the focused card, or retract if it is already yours |
← / → |
The guided tour | Step back and forward through it |
Dragging is never the only way to reorder anything. A queue row's menu offers Move up and Move down, and custom deck cards carry chevron buttons in room settings.
Dialogs and text boxes#
| Keys | Effect |
|---|---|
Esc |
Closes the dialog on top — settings, the add-work-items panel, the ballot, the guided tour, confirmations |
Tab |
Stays inside the open dialog; focus returns to whatever opened it on close |
Cmd/Ctrl+Enter |
Submits a retro reflection, saves one you are editing, or advances the Split wizard |
